Daddy and Mommy seemed happy especially when Christmas came around.

Our dog Bear licks at my nose.

“Mommy, Daddy” I giggle pulling my coat tighter to my body 

No one answers as I cry out again 

I glance around trying to find someone, anyone.

I hear Mommy telling me to be strong

I hear Daddy wishing me luck

I open my tear-filled eyes feeling my face

All of them have dried 

I look down at the graves 

These sweet memories 

I carry it with me everywhere I go. 

Mommy and Daddy may not be here

Still, their memory helps me survive this time of year.
