A Familiar Scent
The bus jumps going through the final turn into the school
My body immediately recognizing the turn
Flying up from my seat being the first off the bus
The rain showered me in an unpleasant cold hug.
My Head to the ground making sure my shoes don't splatter in the puddles
Left, right
Left, right
Deep breath in
Deep breath out
Deep breath in.
Pulling the brand new toy I got to my face smelling the new box
I look down at my tiny boots splashing in every single paddle
Suddenly pulled in by a huge warm hand grabbing my side
A warm hug blocks the cold wind from leaking into my jacket
Hurry and run to the car where it's warm!
I open the door to random blank stares
I keep my head to my shoes and keep walking.

This piece is about all the moments where a random gust of wind is able to bring back memories that we have thought to be long lost. I really like this because it shows just how happy and sad the situation can be.
