Sun and Moon
I love the sun.
I love the warmth that covers me like a blanket on a cold winter night
I love the rays that shine through the colorful windows and onto the floor like a lantern or a flashlight
I love the way it brings life to plants and makes their colors stay
But ignoring the damage it does to us daily doesn't mean it'll go away
The UV lights so damaging will make us cry in pain
A staring at it strains our eyes like we're pulling on a chain
The agony will tear away your trust of ever looking up at the sky
But forgetting why I even loved the sun I'll look up and
Oh my
I love the moon even more
The twinkling stars compliment the craters that protected Earth
And the comforting grey of the surface reminds me of the ashes of a hearth
I watch the moon and I feel myself sinking into a safe place
And I remind myself why I loved the colors of space
It never hurts you the way the sun did
And now I praise the light that the moon emits.

My message for everyone is the same: that if we can learn to identify, express, and harness our feelings, even the most challenging ones, we can use those emotions to help us create positive satisfying lives. - MARC BRACKETT
