Insignificant Vacuum
When I was little I looked up at the sky all of the time,
And every time I thought ‘wow’.
The vastness of this vacuum we call space
is so significantly… insignificant.
But it shouldn’t be.
How could one live on this planet and just
Live?
Today, I still look up at the sky in awe,
And I can’t help but wonder
What are we missing out on?
Black holes, stars, a possibly infinite amount of universes
And to us, it's just… there.
‘Yeah, the sky is blue. So what?’
No. Look deeper. There’s so much more beyond our atmosphere.
The Big Bang… though it is only a theory,
How incredible is that?
Just a little bit of luck, and we’re here.
Through millions of years of evolution, transformation, and struggle,
We’re here.
Why don’t we think about that more often?
There could be other beings like us on far away planets,
each of them as unique as us.
Their DNA a spiral of genes
Making them…
Them.
But we are all connected
Whether it's by being in the same universe
Or living in the same house.
And isn’t it crazy to think
That we could one day just all get along?
‘Well, that’s impossible.’
I couldn’t agree more.
Humanity is so divided…
but it has the potential to be so unified.
Knowing this, how could we possibly
co-exist with things from another planet?
Race, gender, religion.
When you look up at space,
Isn’t it all so significantly insignificant?
