The Circumference of Your Life
Circling, Circling
Everything revolves around in circles
It’s true you see
The earth around the sun
The moon around the earth
Our lives around time
And of course, me around you
But still, we are here alone
You see, we all like to think that we are the center, the spot in which everything turns around
The earth and its axis all in one
And maybe we are, or maybe it’s just one of those things we think to stop the dark thoughts from intruding
My life is my own we think
I am my own God
But now you look away, and you realize you are spinning the opposite direction in which you started
Or were you ever-spinning right, was it always left
How can you ever really be sure, there is no book in which you wrote this down
There is no guide telling you what is or isn’t, what has or what hasn’t been
The mailman turned murderer
The people we thought ourselves to know only now reveal their defining traits
And lucky for you, there is a list for this, and all of your friends seem to have handpicked theirs from the bottom up
You however have gone top to bottom, as one should always do in life
After your recent discovery that you are above the horrid ways of all of your loved ones, you set off on your own, embarking on a new trail that has just appeared in the distance
You are your own God

This poem is about realizing that you don't know everything about everyone else, even if you think you do, but you always know yourself and are liable for the decisions you make, every single one.
