Bittersweet Defeat
The fight is over now
and you lay sobbing in your enemy's arms.
"Hush now, little one," they whisper,
"there was no way you could have won."
The fight is over now
and you gave all you could give
and you bled until you could not bleed
and you lay sobbing in your enemy's arms.
The fight is over now.
Relief floods out of you like gore
and you lay sobbing in your enemy's arms
for you have lost the war.

It's a strange feeling to be cared for by someone you've known as an enemy your whole life, especially in a fight you didn't choose to be in. It's hard to fight for something you don't believe in, but it's also hard to fight against something you've always been told you should believe. I built this poem off of those feelings.
As for "something about me," I'm not great at explaining things. You don't want to know how long I spend editing that description. To be honest, I'm not sure I like it even now, but if I don't let it go, it'll just sit in my files for all of eternity.
