Sunset
The bronze sun shimmies across the sky
casting the shades of
crimson red
tangerine orange
lemon yellow
admiral blue
salmon pink
that the day lacked
catching the simple drops of dew
that adorn the fresh green ferns
and changing them into disco balls
to shine like gems
and illuminate the fading landscape
they hold the last light
but their days are numbered
the moon is already rising
it’s cream colored crescent
to be the only light
in the starless night sky
