Trying to Let Go of You
You say you’re over me
But when you stare, I see
Your claim is true?
Is it false?
Missing you and your calls
So sick of missing you
Haven’t I given a clue?
My cheeks, red from crying, your name
Missing your voice wasn’t the aim
Knocking at the non-existent door that used to be you and I
Now I just daydream with an open eye
I know we fought
I admit that’s not the way I was taught
But the texts you used to send
Would make my heart bend
Now we are lost
I didn’t know that you being gone would be such a cost
