“If this year has taught me anything, it's that grief can destroy a person.”

A boy, with an image straight out of a magazine,

For whom she fell harder at first sight.

As minutes, hours, and days passed,

two lovers molded the cherished moments into memories,

that she desired to treasure for a lifetime, counting on his word,

"Trust me, I’m not like the other guys."

Days and months fled,

His true self made a dark appearance,

as the sheep’s attire, he was wearing vanished into the thin air,

making herself guilty, for not pondering before jumping in,

Besides, kindling a fire and forming a mess within her.

Now that the boy has stepped out of her life,

leaving her like a shattered mirror.

She used to bloom like a crocus,

but she's not as pure and kind as she was before.

Her blue, attention-seeking heart now hunts for a way out,

A way out of her life

Forever.

The author's comments:

William Shakespeare didn’t lie when he said, “For loue is blynd alday and may nat see.” (Love is blind, and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit.)

Note for the readers,

This is my very first poetry. So, definitely not up to your best expectations. And my pov might be different from yours. I’ve never dated anyone so, all the credits goes to the fictional characters that I have in my mind. It’s all about the IMAGINATION.

Also,

No matter what’s your gender, pronoun is, love is for everyone.
