Time
What is
Time?
I'm always racing
Scrambling
Trying to keep up with
The relentless demands of
Time
I can't keep up
I'm falling
Stumbling
And time keeps passing, and at each day's close I don't understand how all that time is
Gone
Suddenly, a rare moment
There is time
It surrounds me like a blanket
Is it comfortable, or smothering? I can't tell.
Everything seems more
Quiet
I don't know what to do
I'm drifting
And it's a peaceful drifting, but it's just so
Silent
And I know that soon I'll be thrown back
Into this rushing, unstoppable current
That races along, dragging us with it
This frantic river of
Time
But for now, I'm peaceful
Quiet
Drifting
Strangely detached, from every bit of this strange thing
This thing that we call
Time
