2022 Flash Fiction Contest: Existence
We owe our entire existence to them. One born from the other, opposites in an eternal struggle for power. It’s comical irony, two forces so toxic and dividing could create us and everything else in existence. Without the darkness creating the light, sacrificing itself, all would be dark. We owe our entire existence to them, light and the dark. We are warned from our young years, find someone who treats you well and empowers you. For nothing good could come from a toxic relationship. But they forget that all of us were created by the most toxic relationship of all time.
