The lion wanders

all around the woods

with so much autarky

because he’s the main in the monarchy

But a deer cannot even

drink from a stream

as a hunter

would shoot the thing

Just because a buck

attacked you using his antlers 

to protect his doe

does not mean that

he is your foe

A deer is innocent 

They know nothing about the cruel world

Just because they are different

doesn’t mean they are danger

When the lion roams,

all run away in fright

but when a deer walks with her babe

You shoot her

The others turn away

The poor little fawn

cries in lone

in his body smeared,

is his mother’s blood

Split second

and to heaven, he too is gone 

What did they do?

Is drinking water a misdeed?

Why does a deer get treated

different than lions?

All of them are animals

despite their species of some

stupid scientific name (whoever the dunderhead invented that?)

They’re all animals

and mostly mattering, they are innocent 

Did this world forget

that lions are villainous 

and a deer is innocent?
