You don't feel something till you feel it.

1,2,3, hold.

The hollow noise of the winds blew by.

Some light, dark green leaves tussling against the wind.

4 to 5 trees standing strong and tall.

Over casting their shadow on the pebble pavement.

1,2,3, release.

High in the trees laid a shadow of a twigged bird's nest.

Two high pitched chirping and twittering.

A mother and a baby.

1,2,3, hold.

Far across another tree.

A young squirrel rustled in the trees, moving along the branches.

The squirrel sat on a branch nibbling on an acorn.

1,2,3, release.

A black butterfly moves past the young squirrel.

Fluttering in the sky.

The black butterfly moves all around the trees.

Up over the branches, circling the tree's stomps seeking a place to relax.

Stooping down, the butterfly lands on a tiny, small green sprouting leaf.

1,2,3, hold.

Ants moved around the slightly moss stone benches to the ash brown ground.

Moving over the caramel and some white-washed brown old, dead leaves.

Crunchy dead leafs that still held some light in the green splotches.

Foraging ahead, the little ant climbs over the long and thin yet firm broken off branches.

That had fallen off of a tree.

Walking with others, making its way home inside of the pile of sand and soil.

1,2,3, release.

I can breathe now.

Sitting and watching everything around me beneath my feet.

The author's comments:

I did a camp on writing- today is actually my last day. I've never really thought about publishing something like a poem to the internet before because most of my poems are personal and I think trashy. I originally wrote this poem yesterday as we were told we would go outside and sit in the shade writing down things that describe what we see and hear. I found this easy since I love what nature truly sounds like. I love to see nature, like little ants, do things not being bothered by us moving along with their day surviving. I love to look up and hear a mother and a baby bird talk to one another. They have better communication skills than most of us.
