remedies
octobers i spent filling in the chasm on my lip.
the schism
of flesh and skin chiseled by zephyr and gargantuan
flames,
the malediction of my mind. the autumns of acrid vitamins
pulped,
remedial. my aseptic wound that accommodated words &
words,
parasites of a kind. the tepid air cooled to be arid in a
room
full of language’s embellishment, refining the order that order lies
within
Hell, lacerated souls. using an imbecile mallet, forging its
way
through the hole on my lip.
& slowly
i saw the words flow out.

This poem is inspired by a medical condition on my lip. It keeps recurring as if an old friend of mine. Despite the pain, I learned to cope with it.
