My Pack
You are my pack,
Saved from the cold
You took me in, a wolf, not a dog
I will protect you from the others
I live outside, you saved me as a pup
You are my pack,
You gift me water and food
I hunt gifting to you my scavengings
You smile at me and scratch my chin
You are my pack,
To protect you till the day I die
That is my duty
You are my pack,
It grows cold in my heart
As the town hunts me down
Tears drip from your eye
I kiss your hand
Do not cry
You are my pack…
I love being a part of a group that gives and takes, but sometimes that loyalty is misplaced, but I have found someone worth the suffering.
