Resting Place
My eyes above the windowsill,
My nose against the glass.
If I could have one wish,
Before I breath my last,
It would be to fly back to the past,
For one moment of joy,
One moment of tears,
One moment of love,
After these many painful years.
For war to end,
For peace to start,
Instead of pulling,
My heavy-laden cart.
One moment of solitude,
One place we can be safe,
One sing, happy, resting place.
