The blue-tongued creature
Blue tongue runs over blue teeth
Pendulum
Yellow iris swing left to right
Above a grin curled
Hidden behind a sheath
Chin like dagger
Pointed forward and proud
Garden flower
Bloom from the jagged ears
Of the blue tongued creature.
Poppies
and Orchids
EXPLODE
Wide in pupils
Petals folding over
Over tendons
Over
Over muscles
Two on the shoulders
And one for the heart
Turning silver
Clear
Cloud is their hair
Embraces their face and body
Resting on their aching cold
Hand
Hand of bee stings
GREEN WALLS press
Press
Press
Against them
Pressing
and Pressing
Laughter
From the blue tongued creature.
Giddy with delight
Warm aroma
Of tropics and blue skies
Pina Colada in my hand
Bluer than the blue tongued creature.
Touches the unconscious mind
The last sight to see
Before the
BLACKOUT!
Sudden eyes blink
BLACKOUT!
As the other shut
The conscience mind grows
And the poppies
and orchids
DIE.
Pink tongue runs over white teeth
A wonder it is
That the pink-tongue creature
Doesn’t remember the press of the green walls.
