Heart and Mind pt. 1
Hello! I’m the mind.
and i’m the heart.
This is a poem about me
this is about what i need
I am strong and self-confident
i just want someone to listen
I don’t let anyone tell me different
why won’t anyone listen?
I make good decisions
please, i just want to be heard
And I always win
i just want you to know how i feel
Sometimes, people listen to Heart
but not always
And Heart is wrong
but not always
Heart doesn’t know how to use logic
because sometimes i’m right
Or how to explain how they feel
But sometime’s i’m right!
Heart is just plain dumb-
Mind, just LISTEN!
i may not always be right,
i may not always know the logical or sensible thing to do
i may not be strong,
or smart,
or careful,
But i can love,
Isn’t that enough?
Isn’t it enough to know that i am okay?
Or does everything have to be explained with logic and sense?
Not every decision i make is the smartest but
Sometimes it takes a risk to change your life
To change your mind
I guess-
I guess I’ve never thought about it that way

This is a little back-and-forth from, obviously, the heart and mind that i had when i felt, well, not my best self. It seems like all my best thoughts are when im "not waving, but drowning."
