Her brown eyes turned golden in the sunlight,
And her hair fell perfectly on her shoulders.
Her smile could light up a room upon entrance,
And her laughter sounded like sun beams on a summer day.
But behind closed doors,
Her dark brown eyes stared at the ceiling in pain.
Her hair went into a messy bun to prevent her from chopping it off.
Her smile shifted to a frown,
And her laughter was non-existent.
He loved the way she danced in her pajamas getting ready in the morning,
The way she spontaneously baked cookies at two in the morning.
He adored the way she cherished babies,
And her voice was like honey.
She pulled away from his touch everyday,
And she tried to shut him out.
She was scared to fall in love,
And she wasn’t gonna be the one to hurt him.
He tried to pull her closer,
And slowly break down the walls.
He was scared to fall in love,
He was gonna be the one to heal her.
