A Ring of Pure and Endless Light
A ring of pure and endless light
Dazzles the darkness in my heart
Where seeds of all relentless blight
Will never be allowed to start
The ring of light is made of hope
And full of fresh expectations
Of capability to cope
With less than great exultation
For the human heart is greedy
Taught to demand satisfaction
And the human heart is needy
Wanting love and true compassion
So humans need a saving grace
An against all odds, be-safe place
A ring of pure and endless light
To dazzle the darkness in all hearts

This poem is inspired by Madeleine L'Engle's book "A Ring of Endless Light," book 4 in the Meet the Austens series (and my favorite one out of the five!)
