The Jealousy Of Nature
Jealousy is a hunter green
Filled with greed and bitterness
The green vines strangling trees
Jealousy sounds like rough rain, thunder, and lightning
The harsh wind knocking objects over
Loud birds waking you up before the sun is even in the sky
Jealousy tastes like salt water straight from the ocean
Taking a bite out of a rotten apple
Jealousy smells like dead flowers
Just like a rotting tree
Jealousy looks like a gloomy forest only one would dare to enter
A lake filled with algae
Accompanied by debris scattered over the surface
Jealousy feels like angry waves crashing against you
Putting your trust in a weak branch

This poem was originally an English assignment, my teacher mentioned TeenInk to us a couple of times, encouraging us to submit a piece.
