Your Eyes
Eyes,
bluish green,
woody brown,
cloudy gray,
hazel speckled with bright gold,
pure emerald-
Life sparkles
within their pupils, irises, crinkles when you smile-
infinite stories
hidden inside
the most expressive organ
your eyes
really do
tell the story- your stuggles, victories, heartbreak, hope,
unique (totally)
the dreams that spiral into reality, the ones that fade into oblivion
the love that giggles in the classroom, the type with gentle kisses
the hatred, quiet in the dark, the kind expressed out loud
the hope for the distant future, foggy with time, and hope for the present, clear and bright
life, unerasable
your Eyes,
turquoise-ocean rimmed with navy
reflecting the fall leaves
laughing behind your hands
crying during a sad movie
your Eyes,
dark chocolate- almost black
glitter with the glare of fresh snow
scanning articles about your favorite shows
stirring cake batter in my kitchen
your Eyes,
sky-blue speckled with denim
shining under the mountain sunset
squinting under the weight of a tree
cackling at a dad joke
your Eyes,
chestnut in the sun, with glints of green
laughing while we waltz under the flourescent lights
red after sobbing into my shoulder
excited at finding a new book
my Eyes,
gray-blue with green smatters
hoping to see you all soon
even if it's on the other side
missing you, and your beautiful, wonderful, exquisite eyes. I'll see you again,
i promise.
