Moon Gazing
week by week I fixed my wednesday eyes
softly on the pregnant moon
starlessly dancing, friendless in a nest-soft sky
feathered with prayers and breathing ancient wishes;
somewhere on the water
the moon breathed its thoughts below balconies
shivering softly
fond and intimate as shrimp on a skewer
forever moon, knowing me—
i watched the moon childishly
like it was an egg that cracked every month
and hatched its bird of darkness.
i watched it fly; moon drops accumulated in my heart
till it grew so hot and damp, i felt my shaking palms open
letting my bird of darkness free.
it would fly songlessly
through a lonely and desperate wednesday night.

By observing other people's poems, I've decided to make some changes to mine, like using longer lines and no capitals, because it makes it flow more elegantly. Reading poetry really pays off.
