Summer Has The Shortest Days
Summer has the shortest days
For they all pass in seeming blur
With naught to do but pleasure, love
Each day a flash of bright allure
They fly so swift on wings of heat
As brief as wavelets on the shore
Though the sun long lingers overhead
Each minute a second, never a bore
So go! And laugh, and play, and shout
Dance in the sun’s unwavering rays
Make merry until the instant of sleep
For summer has the shortest days
