Fire
It
Flickers, embers dying
Ashes rising, bark
Crumbling to dust
At my fingertips
At the flame core
My fingers wrap
Around the fire
I burn, I crumble,
I flicker, I send
Sparks like stars
Dancing through pitch
Black night sky
I hold the fire
And when I burn
I scream, I fall
And when I learn
I fan the flames tall
And when I love
I bring the light, the warm
And when I shove
Away the sparks, the swarm
They only ever grow
The unbeloved will cut me
Down at the knees
Wood to fuel the flames
The beloved will dance
In my light, in my joy
It is too much
I burn
I-
Flicker
