Rain Shine
Knowing too well it’s night
Rain crashed windows streaming and weeping
Puddles drifting, traffic sleeping
Hot sun clouds give way to
Jets of pearl hail gone like words
Silent lightning fighting with sunset
Like a glass bead necklace on a drowned lady.
Cars sift dreamily like tranquilizers
Dark blue streets are laced with spidery sounds
Slippery thoughts are sweet like apple butter
Giving way to uncertainty.
Come again, thunder
Rock me on the marble
I call my planet.

I love the rain, how it makes the streets shine and the house feel cozy.
