Superior Lips
If I paint you,
A smile,
Will you listen to,
My words?
Or look at the,
Rich red of my lips,
Must I growl,
And scream,
To be seen?
Must I alienate,
And poison,
To be heard?
Why must I become,
A demon,
To be listened to?
How is that fair?
When he walks in,
And instantly becomes,
My superior.

This is essentially about women in general. Women have had to fight for so long to get where they are now, and yet where we stand now is still not equal to men. In my school I have been told it's a bad thing to be a feminist bc we are loud and rude and over confident and we are asking for too much. But why? Why is it wrong to want a fair wage? To be treated equally? To be able to leave the house in a city and not be frightened of dark alleyways? To me this isnt unreasonable, this is a basic human right. But I am being told I shouldn't want it, and can you guess who is telling me this? Yep it's always the boys. Men can be femenists just as much as women can. So why do you choose to make me feel like my values don't matter?
