Davy's Riversong
Ohio River
Stretches from borders to mist to barges,
Trees like filmstrip,
Clouds like two ends of a prayer—
There Davy will stop for his picture
Dimpled riverchild.
Davy, say you will
Come on back to my rocky skies,
Say you will
Sail away with me.
Say you will—
Look across the gray-whiskered waters
Where young mamas in glasses
Stand on the sand
Holding their little gingerbread babies
and clunky cameras,
Staring soul far away—
Davy, say you will
Sail away with me
Till the sound of your silence meets the sky,
Till the rivers
Carrying our baby otter dreams
Have all run dry.

you should watch the(new) movie saturdays warrior. its really bad and so cheesy but you'd like it.
This is about my little-big brother (he is older than me, but he has always seemed younger because he is severely autistic and doesn't talk much though he causes lots of trouble). When my family used to visit my grandma's house by the river, my mom would walk with him and take endless photos of him, overlooking the bluffs. Creature of habit, he started stopping for Mom to take pictures at random times. He was real cute as a child. The river scenery was amazing. As for this poem, it is kinda sentimental and kinda out-there. Sail away with him? Really? What was I thinking?
