A Nightmare

Wandering--searching through the cold night.
With me, a lantern shining bright.
Like the burning ember of my heart
Seeking the girl in my dreams whilst we're apart.
Nothing is known if she's real or not;
But I know the never-ending love that I've got
Always hoping-always yearning but
I always return empty-handed.
Or maybe, I'm just dreaming.
Perhaps my dream is just a dream
Not real, but a fantasy of you and me
Why is the reality not so lovely as it seems.
