For Yasmin
For Yasmin
A poem by Hicks
I
Am I too ambitious to ask for your hand?
You're so sweet and so loving.
Asking for the day-you'll give me a chance.
My fine lady Yasmin.
II
To war, I am off to.
Battling my own emotions and insecurities;
Confessing, my love for you.
I'll return-I promise, my fine lady Yasmin.
III
Sorry if I took too long;
My anxieties took a hold on me.
But now I'm ready for the unknown.
I am now here, my fine lady Yasmin.
IV
All these years, and I'm still into you.
Dreaming of you dancing with the stars-dazzling.
My love for you will always be true.
Forever, I'm with you beloved Yasmin.
