and i like the way you speak so solid
there is no space for affirmation
you leave blanks for me to fill in
i like your smile because your eyes crinkle
like the paper rings we wore on halloween
i like how you are a push and pull
because i feel safe leaning into you
and i like your insistence
where would i be without your support
your brightness
i sit on the edge of my seat
every time
i like how you get embarrassed over small things
because you amplify them
and it makes a difference
