As I Sit Here
As I sit here,
making my way through life,
I look out to see all the people I've ever known.
As I look out,
I wonder.
As I wonder,
I think about how every single one of those people has their own lives,
their own wishes,
their own way to move through life,
And I become thankful.
As I am thankful,
I thank that I am able to be here,
Instead of somewhere else,
Hurting someone,
Being hurt by someone,
Or anything in-between.
As I am thankful,
I thank that I have the ability to read,
The ability to be able to create worlds,
And destroy others.
As I am thankful,
I wonder,
I look out,
And I sit here,
Thinking that even though I am one person,
With my own thoughts,
And my own wishes
There are other people,
With their own thoughts,
And their own wishes,
And I am at peace.
