Fear to Love

Through the dark for which I walk,
I turn to you and hold my breath.
You come to me and say just talk,
I glance around first right then left.

The fear is growing stronger,
But closer to me you stride.
I can take this fear no longer,
My heart must be my guide.

You reach out to take my hand,
My body trembles and sways.
This pressure I can no longer stand,
But I am frozen by your gaze.

My body no longer listens,
Your words are soft and sweet.
My eyes start to burn and glisten,
There is no hope of retreat.

"Come to me o' my love,
you are everything I need.
Beauty given from above,
My heart you have freed."

"Woe is me I am scared,
You come for me again.
I am so unprepared,
My heart bound by chain."

"Why can't you see,
You foolish girl.
Your true love is me,
Let your fear unfurl."

" I cannot let myself love you,
I'd much rather die.
These things you say are untrue,
I must bid you goodbye."

I turn on my heels and run,
I hear you yell in anger.
The game I  fear has begun,
I feel the growing danger.
