Shipwrecks
I'm here, a vast soul
With very little attention.
A dark form
That they don't care to explore.
Down at the bottom
Wanting to understand what's above me.
And
They only ever see my surface,
Not a percent of what I actually am.
I know
That
They're too afraid.
Too afraid to pay attention
Too afraid to explore my depths
Too afraid to see what's under my surface
Too afraid to look at what they'd find
The monsters I conceal
The horrors that I hide
The jagged rocks and broken hearts
The wreckage, the splinters
It's all underneath me
And the only thing that's stopping them
From seeing what I'm made of
From the secrets that I hold
From the creatures that I burden
Is me
