Places I Want to Be
Lake
The water is serene,
Cold and clear.
Like a sapphire glimmering in the sun.
Deep green seagrass billow in the current,
Small, silver fish dart in and out of the slimy strands.
Sunlight filters through the everchanging surface,
A kaleidoscope of pure blues and golden yellows.
Dark, black rocks jut out from the white sands,
Imposing things cold to the touch.
Desert
Golden sands piled in huge mounds,
Some tall as mountains.
There used to be something here,
But the sun has scorched all life.
White, crumbling ruins lay in the middle of no-where,
Their roofs accented with gold.
Only the dead wander here now,
Their bodies cold.
Waterfall
Rainbows appear in the mist,
The water silver in the light.
Sharp rocks worn by water,
Slick with algae.
Lush, green grasses grow abundantly,
Clusters of wildflowers poke through.
Azure and deep,
Hiding something below.
