drowning

waves.
they crash all around me.
making any noise sound like
a static tv.
thoughts.
race through my mind.
like cars on a race track.
nonstop.
anxieties.
fill the air around me.
i breathe them in,
but they aren’t exhaled.
they’re stuck inside.
controlling my each and every move.
i’m stuck.
in an endless ocean.
the waves crush all sound
as they try and pull me under.
there’s a choice though.
will you fight back,
or let your anxieties
drown you?
