How my heart felt like it was beating just to be stopped
How my tears were threatening to come out at a moments notice
The news never showed the aftermath
The stories the casualties left behind
The lives they built
The news moved on
Leaving to its next story just as fast as it had left the first
Leaving us to wonder if our experiences mattered at all
They news broke us just as much as it healed
