River of Tears
Tears stream from her face like an eternal waterfall.
She slams the closet door behind her, blocking out the world.
She collapses onto the floor.
The tears start pooling around her ankles, the water rippling with every tear.
Her thoughts urge her to keep crying.
She huddles into her knees, seeking comfort.
Drop, drop, drop
Her tears start to fall like a leaky faucet.
Steady, yet slow.
Her arms feel the warm tears flowing up.
She starts to wonder why she’s in this confined closet.
Plop, plop, plop
She glances down at the lake that is now up to her neck.
The walls start closing in, pressing against her.
The water keeps going up and up, threatening to drown her.
Her distressed thoughts are interrupted, as she feels the walls squeezing against her sides.
She frantically wrenches the door open, the water gushing into the hallway.
And walks out of the room, forgetting the river of tears that flowed behind her.
Slosh, slosh, slosh
