Lightning howls a loud sound,
The tree wanting comfort, but nothing around to grant it
Ash lays deep within its roots,
Its friends falling slowly down to become one with the earth
They’re not particularly as sad as they are
Disappointed
Something so bright, enticing and beautiful
Took everything considered to be company.
All except one tree.
Left to battle the persistent winds.
Alone.
