silk melodies
waves swallows me under silk blankets of the sea
while sand creeps up on me
I drown willingly
pain never got the best of me
sandpaper skin comes with rough edges
only pain for a moment
green voices don’t get deep in
-
sirens sing in the rays of mother herself
lulling kinds onto their shelf
last breath until cut stealth
poor men had too much wealth

This piece is my deception of the siren and sailior myth. This not only descibes my personal perception of the myth itself, but was inspired by the elements in life that easily pull you under. I wrote about the melancholy emotions I sometimes feel throughout my day, and how I give up to easily, and live in that dreary and miserable state for the rest of the day.
Some may be confused about the 'green voices' I refer to the second stanza. The 'green voices' are my description of converstational poison, comments dripping of envy, for example.
