Procrastination
I gawk at the heap of books and binders.
I delay the loads of assignments to Sunday at 8:30 P.M.
My calves ache from the noon soccer game,
and my head throbs from the lack of sleep.
My eyelashes weighs five pounds per lash.
My head like a magnet, finds the cushion
I use to prop my back against.
I resist the temptation to sleep and begin my
sixs pages of draft for my Yogi fish poem,
two algebra lessons,
thirty pages of Uglies by Scott Westerfeld,
and vocab for chapter 1 lesson 1 in life science.
Why so much homework?
Why am I so tired?
Why did I wait until tonight?
