Who am I from?

I am from an adversity survivor.

From abuse and neglect;

      from addiction and depression.

What am I from?

I am from high school sweethearts.

                        From the class president and a mechanical genius;

from a witty and humorous clown.

Where am I from?

I am from Starlight drive.

From chipped maroon accents around rustic windows;

                  from a semi truck tire swing that hung from a mystical oak tree.

When am I from?

               I am from the rapid growing technological era.

                                   From an equal balance of scraped knees and burned CDs;

          from the iPod touch and Easy Bake Ovens.

Why am I here?

  I am here because of a prayer.

                   Here because a household of three boys is chaos;

     here because of the desire of sweetness.

How did I get here?

           I am here because I am an adversity survivor.

                       Here because I have experienced abuse and neglect;

                     Here because I overcame addiction and depression.
