Decades Hence
Would that I again had
Youth
And Hours to spend in
Idleness –
That I had the Time to
Think
Of girlish Thoughts and
Dreams.
Time to indulge in
Pettiness,
Time to dream of minuscule
Matters –
But, Alas! these are but
Longings
Of a Woman, long since
Aged,
A Woman who watches with
Joy –
The youthful Faces that
Surround,
As she who often
Remembers
Her own long-ago
Youth
Wishes – not to
Return,
But merely to
Dream.
