Shattered Heart
After all these long-drawn years,
I was still here, waiting for you
After these wasted sobs and shedded tears,
I hope you were coming for me too
Remember those iron bells,
That we had hung up together over there?
They are now just rusted shells,
But they're still hanging up in the air
Day or night, sun or storm,
I sit here, thinking you'll return
I await here on this very platform
Where your presence I still yearn
But now, after all this time,
I know all this is futile
I've waited after the bells refused to chime
This wait hadn't been worthwhile
After the yells, after the screams,
I saw you rush out the door
Shattered mind, shattered dreams
I can't wait for you anymore
I've spent so many days
Picking up the pieces of my heart
I want you to know that always
With you, I'll never part
But it's time to leave,
Time to move on again
Although I still grieve
Those forgotten memories of way-back-when
Here, I'll leave my shattered heart
So that when you come back
You know you and I have never been apart
Even when the world turned black
Here, I'll leave my shattered heart
Sorry, but I have to go
Sorry, but I have to find a new start
I hope that you'll understand, you'll know
Here, I'll leave my shattered heart,
Here, I'll leave my shattered heart.
My shattered heart
