Happy Birthday To You
I could give you pretty things
Which would soon decay
But I'd rather give these heartfelt words
On your special day
You are like sunshine on a rainy day
Starlight on my path
A protected haven when I am afraid
Magic when I am sad
Sparkling water refreshing my soul
An invisible presence when I am alone
A song that fills my mind and thoughts
So glad I can call you my own
You tirelessly put up with me
Not even grossed at my ugly face
You deal with me so mercifully
Now I call that amazing grace
A lonely shell on a pretty beach
You looked inside to see
You spiraled right into my heart
And when you looked, you found me
So grateful for all the kindness shown
So thankful for all you do
You are the inspiration of this poem
Happy birthday, dear brother, happy birthday to you
