School Days
Alarm goes off, I dash from bed,
Thoughts of high school fill my head.
Catch the bus, ride to school,
I hope that it runs out of fuel.
We get there soon, I shuffle in,
Wishing for what might have been.
Another day, but this one white
And Math has never been alright.
Whoop de do, I have math first,
And this class really is the worst.
Algebra, arithmetic,
Math class really makes me sick.
Get out your pencil, take some notes.
On this subject we will dote.
I yawn and brace myself for math
Prepare to face the teacher’s wrath.
Problem six, problem ten,
When’s this horror going to end?
Halfway through, halfway there,
This class I can hardly bear.
What’s that question you just asked?
We are going way too fast!
Give me writing, music, art
I can learn that all by heart.
9, 8, 56,
I can’t take much more of this!
Equations, numbers, exponents,
Are you sure that’s what you meant?
Five more minutes, almost there,
I’ll be glad to leave, take care!
Ring! The bell sounds out, I’m free!
Now I have geography.

I wrote this for English class. The assignment was to do a spinoff of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" about something we are passionate about, so I chose my worst enemy: math.
