I love your voice,
your soft brown hair.
I love your eyes
and love your stare.

I love your laugh,
your cocky smirk,
your stupid jokes.
You precious jerk,

you know I do.
I want my hands
all through your hair
each treasured strand.

I’m wrapped around
your finger still.
Am I yet yours?
Your love does kill

the things I hold
so close to me
and yet you’re the
best jerk I see.

You scold me for something I did not know. I assumed, given the nature of this website, that you were about my age, and still in High School. I did not know that you were married to someone other than the person whom this poem is about. It seems that you have indeed discovered what true love is, and so I am happy for you. But, you were too harsh in replying to me and calling me, of all people, a judgemental jerk. To call me that is like calling a Jewish person a Muslim. Why? Because you have adressed me as the very thing that hates me for no apparent reason. I'm one of those poor guys who hears slander from people almost every day. I'm that guy who studies his school work and writes literature because he has nothing else to do since no one will befriend him. I'm that guy who is kind, polite, intelligent, romantic, strong, influentual, charismatic, and wise. Yet they pass him by only because he does not look the part.

This is one of those times when the girl falls in love with a guy because of his looks and his good looks alone. No offense, but I happen to be one of those guys whose sweet beyond all reason, but girls disown me because I'm not cute enough. When I see stuff like this, It greatly offends me. To the writer of this, I pity you. You may never know what true love is.

I know what you mean. I have a guy friend whom I recently acquired and I call him a jerk all the time, but this describes how I feel about him really well.

Describing this boy as having a "cocky smirk" makes me dislike him, and I'm not sure I understand what the author sees in him...It's a very well written poem, though.
