A Raindrop's Journey
I'm seeing the rain trickle on down my window,
their colors distorted by sun.
As surprise fills my mind and my thoughts start to wander
on what causes their beauty to run.
Could it be that they've had enough torment and anguish
being held up so cold in the sky?
That the warmth of the earth will hold them and keep them
from their tremendous cumulo-cries.
Or maybe they've had enough lonesome evenings;
together, though not so by mind.
That falling would save them, and gravity push
for peace they could finally find.
But what of the ones that could never leave?
So scared by the journey of life...
to bring up the courage to finally drop
and leave behind all of their strife.
As one touches down, it finally sees
that nothing was too hard to bear.
Its journey was worth it to finally know
all along it was in the earth's care.
