Worthless Words
There’s a little truth in each “just kidding,”
Some more to say in every “never mind.”
Every little lie you tell, you think it’s white, but it’s dark inside.
“I didn’t mean it” is a phrase that gets old so fast when it’s only a mask.
You can say “sorry”, apologize, but their “I forgive you” is as worthless as your lies.
“I’ll be there” only counts if you come.
“I love you” only works when you’re saying it to just one.
“We can try again” won’t work without amends.
Words are useless, and no matter what you say,
Your actions tell me I’m being played.
