The Girl with the Bowl of Tears
She stumbled along the dirt path
Unsteady but with care
Looking out for dropped branches
Slowing here and there
Held in her delicate hands
Was a tiny silver bowl
Filled up with salty tears
From her cheeks that they would roll
There hanging loosely on her body
Was a long flowing silk dress
Along with vines entwining her arms
And her hair was not a mess
A wanderer in the woods
Is exactly what she was
Traveling where she does not know
Only just because
Her soul is perfection
A living angel here on earth
Still having the innocence
Since the age of birth
Along with the bowl
Full of salty tears
Was her beauty saved
From living all those years
In the bowl she wept
Her beauty and her youth
Into the bowl she wept
Her virtues and the truth
Away she went with the silver bowl
Looking for someplace new
To hide and protect her hurt,
To save her beauty and virtue
Away she went to keep it safe
She takes pride in her pearl
For her silver bowl is just that
As she is just an ordinary girl.
